KCCA FC humiliated in Mbarara

Mbarara City FC inflictated a humiliating defeat on giants Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC in the Star Times Uganda Premier League game at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara municipality.

KCCA took the lead in the 18th minutes of the game when Sam Senyonjo tapped in a fine pass from Keziron Kizito. However, Ibrahim Orit leveled the ground for the hosts in the 30th minute with an assist from Brian Aheebwa.

The first half ended in a 1 all draw.  Swalik Bebe sealed KCCA’s fate when he netted the second goal for Mbarara FC in the 71st minute sending the home crowd in excitement.

This is the first victory from Mbarara FC against the KCCA giants following draws in the last four matches.

Mbarara city returned to their home ground after clearance by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on November 6.

The team has since picked 10 points from its previous four matches at the stadium. The interim coach of Mbarara FC, Brian Senyondo, says the win is vital for his team, saying it is also an indication that they are looking forward to better their performance.

Arnold Akankwasa, the Mbarara City FC Public Relations Officer, says the win means a lot for the team and will attract fans who were bitter over poor performance.
