Policeman hacks lover, flees to Kenya

Canan Idudi Kisambira, a traffic  police officer attached to Mbirizi Police Station in Lwengo district is at large for allegedly hacking his girlfriend to near death.

He is wanted for allegedly hacking his lover, Justine Muganga, a resident of Nyendo township in Masaka Municipality and phone dealer before taking off with her vehicle registration number UAQ 517X.

Kisambira is said to have left Nyendo together with Muganga on November 1, enroute to Kenya to buy new phones.

They decided to make a stopover at Kisambira’s home in Kadimokoli Sub County in Budaka district for a rest before resuming their journey the next day.

However, the couple didn’t reach their planned destination as Kisambira reportedly hacked Muganga at Sekulo village in Budaka and left her for dead.

Patrick Kunyile, the Sekulo parish LC II chairperson, says a good samaritan found Muganga bleeding and rushed her to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital where she is nursing injuries.

Budaka District Police Commander, Wilson James Salam, said that the police have recovered Muganga’s vehicle while Kisambira is still at large.

He is suspected to have fled to Kenya.

According to Salam, once arrested, Kisambira will be charged with robbery, theft and attempted murder.

“We have recovered the vehicle and we are now looking for the police officer who attempted to kill someone and took off with money and her phones. I call upon the public to give us information leading to the whereabouts of the suspect,” he said.
