IGG Mulyagonja appointed Justice of the Court of Appeal

The Inspector General of Government (IGG) Justice Irene Mulyagonja has bounced back to the judiciary following her appointment to the Court of Appeal.

The 56-year-old became the ombudsman in April 2012, four years after she had been appointed a judge of the High Court.

In a letter to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, Museveni named Mulyagonja alongside Monica Kalegira Mugenyi and Muzamiru Kibedi Mutangula as his appointees to the Court of Appeal upon the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission.

In the same letter, Museveni also announced the appointment of the underlisted as Judges of the High Court.

Vincent Emmy Mugabo, Immaculate Busingye, Jane Okuo who has been the spokesperson of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Isaac Muwata, Jesse Byaruhanga Rugyema and Isah Serunkuma.

Others are, Jeanne Rwakakoko, Suzan Abinyo, Esther Nambayo, Victoria Nakintu Nkwanga Katamba, Boniface Wamala and Philip Odoki.

The appointees will go through the Parliamentary vetting process before their appointment can be confirmed.
