EC finally registers Muntu’s party

Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu’s political party – Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) is now a dully registered political party, seven months after he with some key officials broke away from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

The party’s registration certificate was issued by the Electoral Commission (EC) secretary Sam Rwakoojo on April 25, ending months of anxiety within the membership of the new party.

The party promoters converged at their Bukoto office near Kampala to celebrate the milestone with Muntu tweeting; “We have often been asked what we were doing: tasked to show publicly, our actions for change. But progress isn’t always measured by the amount of coverage it receives but by the hard work put in, often in private. Today we received our certificate of registration as a party.”

It is understood that the party officials are planning to hold a mega launch of the new party as they embark on preparations for the 2021 elections.
