They are said to be part of a notorious gang behind the theft of motorcycles and murder of motorists in Jinja, Luuka, Kamuli and Kayunga districts.
Police has pressed charges of illegal possession of a firearm and suspected murder against the suspects who are locked up at Jinja Central police station.
Onesmus Mwesigwa, the Kiira Region Deputy Police Commander, says they conducted a similar operation in search of members attached to the notorious gang that led to the arrest of Anthony Ssempa, Dennis Kirunda and Arafat Gavamukulya.
They are now remanded at Kirinya prisons. Mwesigwa says police are investigating the involvement of the suspects in different cases of robbery and murders in the region.
