FDC gives up on Kasibante, appoints Ibrahim Kasozi

All hope is lost for Lubaga South MP, Moses Kasibante after the main opposition party; Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), appointed Makindye East MP Ibrahim Kasozi as Vice Chairperson of the committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

The party on March 5 through its secretary general, Nathan Nandala-Mafabi (Budadiri West), wrote to the Chief Opposition Whip, Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda (Kira Municipality) announcing the changes.

“As a party, we have no say on the placement of independents on Committees. To avoid vacuum on the committee, we propose to replace Hon Kasibante Moses with Hon Kasozi Ibrahim as vice Chairperson of COSASE. Your quick action on this matter will highly be appreciated,” Nandala wrote.

In August last year, FDC announced the appointment of Kasibante as the COSASE Vice Chairperson only to be technically knocked out after the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga designated him to the Appointments Committee in accordance to the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.
