Napak’s Lomonyang elected new ULGA boss

Napak district chairman Joseph Lomonyang has been elected President of Uganda Local Government Association  (ULGA) after a hotly contested election that pitted him with Mityana district chairman Joseph Luzige.

Lomonyang garnered 140 votes against Luzige’s 123 votes.

The third candidate, Katakwi district chairman Elakas Walter Okiring withdrew in favour of Lomonyang.

Mukono’s Andrew Ssenyonga retained his seat as Vice president for Buganda region while Iganga district chairman Patrick  Kayemba was re-elected as Vice President for Eastern region.

Kabale district Chairman Patrick Besigye Keihwa was returned unopposed as Vice President for Western region as Kaabong district chairman Mark Abuku won the Vice Presidency for Karamoja region.

Alex Leku, the Adjumani district chairman was elected Vice President for Northern Uganda.
