SC Villa stuns Vipers SC in a four-goal thiller
Struggling SC Villa embarrassed hosts Vipers SC in a Uganda Premier League game played at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
The record league champions that has had their worst in the history of Uganda’s football showed signs of recovery as they took on champions Vipers SC.
Charles Lwanga opened the scoring for the visitors in the 8th minute when he tapped in the ball from a Pius Wangi cross.
Wangi was on the mark in the 16th minute, doubling Villa’s lead with a header.
Villa continued to mount pressure, coming close to stretching their lead in the 20th minute but Lwanga failed to tap in Ashraf Mandela’s cross.
It was until the 39th minute that Vipers pulled one back through Tito Okello, sending the hosts into the break with a consolation goal.
The hosts hopes were dampened in the 49th minute when Joseph Ssemujju stretched SC Villa’s lead with a fine header, ending Vipers SC’s 34-match unbeaten run.
In other games, giants KCCA FC were held bh Bright Stars FC to a goalless draw the same result in the Onduparaka FC game against Kirinya Jinja SS FC.
