UK’s Loughborough Lightening unveils She Cranes’ Nubba
She Cranes player Mary Cholkor Nubba has formally joined the English Netball league, signing for Loughborough Lightening netball team from Uganda’s National Insurance Corporation (NIC) netball team.
The versatile player was unveiled on Sunday ahead of the vitality England netball league 2019 season.
“We’re very excited to reveal that young shooting sensation and Ugandan She Cranes International – Mary Cholhok will join the Lightning side ahead of the 2019 Superleague Season,” reads the statement from Loughborough Lightening.
Nubba a former St Mary’s Kitende student of South Sudanese’s descent signed a four year deal from NIC, becoming the second Uganda professional player to play for Loughborough.
Peace Proscovia, the She Cranes captain was the first Ugandan to play for the club but left at the expiry of her four year contract to join Sunshine Coast Lightening of Australia.
Nubba who has been a student at Nkumba University will continue along with her studies at Loughborough Lightening University in UK.
