Eng Kitaka picked to warm Musisi’s chair

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) director for Engineering and Technical services Eng Andrew Kitaka Mubiru has been appointed to takeover Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula’s roles as KCCA Executive Director, pending a substantive appointment of the new ED by President Yoweri Museveni.

The Minister for Kampala Beti Olive Namisago Kamya announced Kitaka’s appointment in a press release on Monday.

It follows Musisi’s last week’s departure from City Hall after more than seven years in the position which were characterized by fights with the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

“To ensure continuity and smooth running of the City, I have assigned duties of Executive Director to Eng Andrew Kitaka Mubiru, who is substantially the Director Engineering and Technical Services at KCCA. At the same time, I hereby affirm Mr Samuel Sserunkuma to continue carrying on the duties of deputy Executive Director at KCCA until such a time when the substantive one is appointed,” Kamya stated.

Musisi resigned from the position on October 15, in a letter she addressed to President Yoweri Museveni.
