SC Villa denied win at Tooro United

SC Villa has settled for a 2-all draw with Tooro United in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league in a game played at Buhinga in Fort Portal.

Villa took the lead with a 12th minute goal from Bashir Mutanda until the 60th minute when Allan Kayiwa sloted in the hosts’ equaliser.

Pius Wangi put the visitors back in the lead four minutes later, giving a ray of hope that Villa’s bad start to the season had come to an end.

But hopes for maximum points from Buhinga were dashed in the 71st minute when Isa Mubiru equalised for Tooro United FC.

SC Villa remains without a win in the league and have only collected 4 points from 8 league matches the record 16 times league champions have so far played since the start of the current seadon.

Tooro United are now 11th on the table with six points from eight games after they have won just once, drawn three and lost four games.

Uganda Premier League resumes on Friday with defending champions Vipers SC taking on Paidah Black Angels at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende.

Mbarara City currently tops the league table with 16 points from eight matches played so far this season.
