FUFA suspends Express FC – Vipers SC match officials

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has banned the match officials that handled Wednesday’s Uganda Premier League game between Express FC and Vipers SC at Wankulukuku.

The referees Ronald Kirwanga (centre) and his assistants Samuel Kakembo and Lydia Nantabo made several questionable decisions that seemed to favour champions Vipers SC against hosts Express FC.

The most notable questionable decision was in the 86th minute when they allowed Vipers SC’s Tito Okello to equalise from a clear offside position.

The decision attracted wide condemnation from football enthusiasts that FUFA took it up leading to the ban that the soccer governing has announced in a statement posted on its website.

The match ended in a 1-all draw.

Here is the statement in full.
