Over 670,000 candidates sit for PLE

This year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) have kicked off this morning with 671,923 candidates sitting for the exams at 13,072 centers across Uganda.

The candidates started with Mathematics in the morning and are set for the Social Studies exam in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, the candidates will begin with Integrated Science and end with English in the afternoon.

Unlike the previous years, this year’s candidates are using a special code, a six digit Education Management Information System (EMIS) instead of writing their school names.

Last week, the executive secretary of Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) Dan N. Odongo said, the special code was introduced to close any room for exam malpractices.\
