Cranes get crucial away win against Lesotho

Two first half goals from Farouk Miya brightened Uganda Cranes’ qualification chances to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Cameroon.

The sensational striker put Uganda in the lead in the 5th minute of the game played at Setsoto stadium in Maseru, the capital of Lesotho.

Allan Kateregga nearly doubled the lead in the 20th minute but had his efforts cleared off the line.

Miya was on the mark again on the 32nd minute, scoring from a free-kick, recording his third goal against Lesotho in as many days.

On Saturday, October 13, Miya got into the scoresheet scoring one of the three goals Uganda put past Lesotho at the Mandela National Stadium Namboole.

Uganda cranes fans who travelled to Maseru to watch Uganda cranes play against Lesotho.

Emmanuel Okwi who scored a brace at Namboole earned a yellow card in Maseru which puts him out of the Cranes next outing against Cape Verde.

The Atlantic Ocean nation that beat Tanzania 3-0 last weekend suffered a 2-0 defeat in Dar-es-Salaam.

The win elevated Tanzania to second position with 5 points behind Uganda that is leading the group with 10 points.

Cape Verde moved to the third position with four points while Lesotho is at the bottom of the Group L table with 2 points.
