MP Magyezi denies poisoning rumours

On Saturday, social was awash with news of the poisoning of Igara West MP Raphael Magyezi – the mover of last year’s controversial amendment that scrapped the constitutional age limits.

Many on social media celebrated Magyezi’s “poisoning” with prayers that he never gets of the “intensive care unit” where he was reportedly admitted.

Far from what was circulating, Magyezi spent the day at Maryhill High School Mbarara for his daughter’s visitation day.

In a whatsApp message to his colleague MPs, Magyezi refuted reports that he had been poisoned.

He in fact shared a photo of him with his daughter and her friends dressed in the Maryhill High School uniform.

“I’m visiting my daughter at Maryhill right now. May God forgive people who misuse their social media freedom,” Magyezi said.
