Security heightened as Bobi Wine misses flight

All eyes were on 11 o’clock Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, but as the last passenger disembarked, it became clear that the Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi was missing.

Bobi Wine as he is popularly known, was scheduled to land at Entebbe International Airport at 11am but delayed his flight following reports of the arrest of his brother Eddie Yawe, music associates Nubian Li and King Saha.

Others arrests were of NTV Journalist Joel Ssenyonyi, Dan Magic (Bobi Wine’s music producer) and Kingdom TV’s cameraman Siraje Kiberu.

Lawyers Asuman Basalirwa and Andrew Karamagi were denied access to Entebbe airport which also became inaccessible to journalists.

Bobi Wine is understood to have touched down at Kenya’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Nairobi at 6am from Amsterdam, Netherlands for a connecting flight to Entebbe.
He was however advised to delay the flight as the team monitored the security situation.

Since Wednesday evening, there have an increased deployment of UPDF soldiers and police personnel along the Kampala – Entebbe road.

Several security checks were mounted causing serious traffic delays between Kampala and Entebbe.
