FUFA halts Villa elections

With just a week to the proposed SC Villa election day, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has halted the process and ordered for its repeat.

The elections had been fixed for July 14 in Masaka but FUFA in a letter by chief executive officer Edgar Watson stopped the process because the organisers had not followed the due process.

FUFA gave the club until December 31 as the period within which it has to conduct the elections.
This therefore leaves Eng Ben Misagga as the recognised club president at least until December 31.

The FUFA directive followed a petition by some club officials who expressed discontent over the manner in which the elections were being organized.

Misagga is competing with Gibby Kalule and Denis Mbidde for the club presidency.
Meanwhile the trio will have joint club fans’ meeting at the club’s training ground – Villa Park Nsambya on Sunday to share their views about elections with fans.
