Defending champions Germany out of World cup

World champions Germany have been eliminated from the 2018 FIFA world cup after 2-0 loss to South Korea.

In a dramatic way, South Korea scored both goals in injury time. Kim Young-Gwon who plays for Chinese Super league side Guangzhou Evergrande as a left back and Son Heung-Min who plays for English Premier league side Tottenham scored for South Korea, at least to finish third in group F
Germany has finished the tournament fourth in group F with three points after they won just one game out of the three games.

This is the third consecutive time defending champion has failed to progress to the round of 16. Previously; Spain and Italy failed to progress to round of 16 in 2014 and 2010 respectively.

Meanwhile Sweden and Mexico have qualified to round of 16 from group F with six points each. Sweden in the same group has won 3-0 against Mexico.
