Woman suffocates to death in Gulu
Residents of Pece parish in Pece division Gulu municipality Tuesday woke up to the news of the death Grace Layet 28, who is suspected to have suffocated to death in her house.
Police Public relations officer for Aswa region Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the incident to journalists this morning saying that the police had visited the scene and taken the body to Gulu regional referral hospital for postmortem.
Okema said that there was no ventilation on the house where Layet’s body was found. Inside the house, a cooking stove with beans on it was also recovered.
Okema advised people to desist from sleeping in houses without proper ventilations adding that this puts their lives at risk.
This is the second incident in a week where people suffocate due to poor ventilation. Last week two people were found dead inside their house in Paicho sub-county after they were suspected to have suffocated due to smoke in their house.
