MAO urges DP leader on discipline
Democratic Party President General Norbert Mao has said the party he heads must learn to deal with internal disputes before they escalate to the public.
“After the reunion, the National Organising Secretary is going to carryout a nationwide branch inspection and report to the National Executive committee and we shall resolve them under the constitution,” Mao said. He added that DP leaders have failed to resolve party issues internally and instead exposed their conflicts and grievances to the public.
“Now the bigger problem is when high ranking leaders of the party irresponsibly take our bedroom issues into the market place.
“I call upon all leaders of the Democratic Party to adopt a proper approach. All organisations have conflicts; even in heaven, there is a conflict between God and Satan” Mao added
Mao made the statements at DP headquarters at a time when some leaders in Mukono are protesting the upcoming reunion in greater Mukono.
These headed by Goma Mayor Erisa Nkoyoyo protest the reunion saying it is improper to have it at a time when Betty Nambooze is I’ll and still under police detention.
The deputy mayor of Mukono Municipality Jamadah Kajoba insisted that the reunion shall take place. He is however said to be at loggerheads with Nambooze.
The first regional reunion in greater Mukono is going to be at Festinal City in Mukono District.
The reunion targets eleven constituencies in the four districts of Mukono, Buikwe, Buvuma and Kayunga.
The reunion stems from the grand reunion held on May 23 at Makerere University with the intention of reviving the patty through unity.
More regional reunions shall be held in Gulu, greater Masaka, Bugisu and Toro among others.
