KCCA beats Vipers to win Uganda cup
KCCA FC beat Azam Uganda premier league champions Vipers FC 1-0 to win their tenth Stanbic Uganda cup title.
In a final game that also climaxed Uganda football season played in Bukedea district, Julius Poloto scored for Kasasiro boys in 42nd minute the lone goal of the game.
Despite KCCA FC’s Sadam Juma being sent off the pitch 18 minutes to the end of the game, Vipers couldn’t penetrate to find the back of the net at least to equalize and force penalty shoot out.
Though KCCA FC was missing the likes of; Muzamir Mutyaba, Mustafa Kiiza, Mohammed Shaban and Lawrence Bukenya, they put up a remarkable performance to have Vipers stranded in the finals.
KCCA are now to bag Shs 30m and runners up Vipers will receive Shs 20m.
KCCA goalkeeper Charles Lukwago was voted best goalkeeper of the season and his compatriot Patrick Kaddu who signed for KCCA from Maroons FC was the tournament top scorer with seven goals.
