Vipers ,KCCA FC secure vital wins in Azam Premier league


Vipers Soccer Club have defeated relegation battlers Express FC 5-0 in a game played in Kitende on Tuesday.

Daniel Serunkuma scored three goals with Geoffrey Wasswa and Duncan Sseninde scoring one each.

Viper has 62 points now, two points ahead of other title contenders Kampala Capital Capital City Authorities (KCCA) fc who also won 2-1 against BUL FC in Lugogo.

Derrick Nsibambi Scored two goals for KCCA FC to keep their title hopes alive.

The loss to Express FC has left them in a must win situation in their last league game against Masavu fc to be played in Bugonga this Friday. While for the Vipers and KCCA, the wins are vital for any of them to secure championship.

KCCA’s Nsibambi who raised the title hopes high for his club.

Express FC remains third from the bottom of the table with 28 points from 29 games. Three bottom placed teams at the end of the league will be relegated.

Meanwhile, though Vipers are leading the league table they must win their last league game against UPDF FC to be played in Kitende this Friday if they ate to win their third league title.

In case of a loss for Vipers and win for KCCA FC on last day of the league, KCCA who are second placed will be crowned champions.

Other teams like, West Nile champions Onduparaka stand at 4th position with 45 points, while Jinja SS is at the 5th position with 40 points. Bright stars and Uganda police take 6th and 7th position respective with each having 38 points.

Prisons side Maroons comes 8th with 36 points followed by Bul who come 9th with also 36 points.

Others are Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) 34 points, Mbarara City 32 points, Soana 31 points, Uganda Peoples defence forces (UPDF) 29.Express and Proline at 28 and Masavu at 26.
