KCCA FC shocks Al Ahly 2-0 at Namboole
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has registered its first three points in the CAF champions league group stages after they beat Egyptian side Al Ahly 2-0 in Namboole.
Sadam Juma who missed KCCA FC’s first group stage game against Township Rollers scored the first goal in 73rd minute of the game.
Later with four minutes to end the game substitute Derrick Nsibambi was fouled and referee Victor Gomes from South Africa awarded KCCA FC penalty.
Captain Timothy Awany stood in and converted the penalty to seal KCCA FC win.
KCCA FC coach mike Mutebi was impressed by performance of Sadam Juma and goalkeeper Charles Lukwago who missed the first game in Botswana against Township Rollers.
However Al Ahly was awarded a penalty in 23rd minute but goal keeper Charles Lukwago made an impressive save.
Mutebi added that the win gives his team confidence after they beat the big boys in Africa.
“We were fortunate not to concede in first half,” said Mutebi in post match press conference.
Though Al Ahly coach Hossam Al Badry was worried of match officiala he was convinced and credited them for their performance.
Al Ahly settled for a goalless draw with Esperence in their group A opener back in Egypt however Hossam is confident with remaining games there is hope for his side to qualify for quarter final.
“With my experience, we still have some more games and we can make it,” said Hossam.
