Uganda hosts Cameroon in U-20 African Cup Qualifiers
Uganda National U-20 team will this Saturday at Lugogo play against Cameroon in the 2019 U-20 African cup qualifiers.
The final tournament will be held in Niger early next year.
Mathias Lule the U-20 Uganda team captain says Uganda is targeting an early lead before the return leg to be held in Cameroon next weekend.
“The team is ready for the game and I think this can be a turning point for each and every player. Many think Cameroon is a big team but I think Uganda too is a big team and we want to win the game. A bigger margin in this game will be good for us,” said Mathias Lule.
Uganda will rely heavily on Vipers’ Steven Mukwala on the attacking side.
The former Kibuli ss student is leading the goal scoring table in these qualifiers with three goals.
Uganda beat South Sudan home away 5-1 and 3-0 respectively to qualify to this level.
The winner between Uganda and Cameroon will be playing winner between Mali and Tanzania in the last qualifying round.
The final tournament will have only eight teams, hosts Niger inclusive.
