Express, Villa settle for goalless draw as Masavu is relegated.

Express FC has settled for a goalless draw with SC Villa in a Kampala derby played in soggy Wankulukuku play ground, Friday.

Despite a draw, Philip Ssozi who was on the Villa bench believes Villa can still claim top of the table slot to win the league title though they are now five points behind table leaders Vipers.

“It has not been an easy game for us. We wanted a win but Express too wanted three points and they have played hard for at least a point. Anything can happen, we can still fight and win the title,” said Ssozi who was on SC Villa bench as coach.

For Express coach Shafick Bisaso he said, they had good display despite not winning the game and is hopeful they will handle game by game. However Bisaso has been noncommittal on if Express will survive relegation or not.

“We can only talk about present situation, I can’t comment on what is yet to come but I can confirm we are going to handle game by game,” said Bisaso after the game in Wankulukuku.

Express fc remains 14th with 28 points and has two games against table leaders Vipers and relegated Masavu fc to end season.

Masavu fc has been relegated following Sonana’s 2-1 win against UPDF fc. Masavu couldnt accumulate points that can help it survive relegation in their remaining one game.

In other games played Maroons lost 1-0 to Police fc as BUL fc lost 2-1 to Bright Stars.
