SC Villa title Chase suffers setback 

“auto”>Uganda topflight league record champions SC Villa’s chance to win this year’s title have suffered a setback after they settled for a 1-all draw with relegation battlers Mbarara city in a game played at Kakyeka.

Yubu Bogere scored for SC Villa in the 38th minute before Emmanuel Ibe scored a penalty for the Ankole lions ten minutes to end the game.

Although Villa is still in the contention for the title with 50 points, they are two points behind table leaders Vipers and this has been setback to a team that had fetched three points to pile more pressure on the table leaders.

With now five games to end the season, SC Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa is still hopeful that the title is still in their sight.

It’s the first game for SC Villa to play this season without their head coach Wasswa Bbosa on touchline as he is serving his four match suspension from the disciplinary committee.

Meanwhile Bright Stars shocked Kirinya Jinja SS with a 2-1 win in a game played in Bugembe.
Goals from Andrew Kaggwa and league leading scorer Nelson Ssenkatuuka were enough for Bright Stars to walk away with three points.
Faizal Muwawu scored for home side Kirinya Jinja SS.

In another game played in Luzira, Express fc survival chances also suffered a setback after they settled for a 1-all draw with Maroons FC.
Express FC remains in red zone with now 26 points from 25 games, with now five games to end the season.
