Sam Ssimbwa appointed URA FC coach

Sam Ssimbwa, Former Uganda Cranes winger has been appointed the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC Coach, a move that will see him lead the team to end of the season after the departure of Paul Nkata.

Nkata resigned on Tuesday after URA FC was humiliated by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC 7-2 in the Azam  Uganda premier league played in Lugogo.

Nkata had spent four months with the team after being appointed in December replacing Ibrahim Kirya whose two years contract had been terminated due to poor performance of the team.

“The URA FC board sitting today 26th April 2018, has appointed Sam Ssimbwa Bamweyana to guide the team to the end of the season,” reads the letter in parts from URA FC confirming the appointment of former Express FC, Sc Villa and KCCA FC coach Sam Ssimbwa.

Less than a month Ssimbwa resigned his post as Sofapaka head coach. There has been a thought of Ssimbwa rejoining Soana fc as head coach since Alex Isabirye is not performing well currently at Soana.

Ssimbwa’s performance will be assessed at the end of the season to earn him permanent contract at URA FC or not.

Ssimbwa will soon lead URA against Masavu FC, Proline FC and Express FC and also West Nile Club Onduparaka.

Ssimbwa has coached Mbale Heroes, Masaka LC FC and Military Police FC among others.

URA FC are currently 8th on Azam Uganda premier league table with 31points after 26games and they are remaining with 4 games to end the season.
