Court orders arrest of businessman Jack Pemba
The Commercial Division of the High court has issued an arrest warrant for businessman and socialite Jack Pemba.
The order results from an allegation of failure to pay $300,000 belonging to business man Godfrey Kirumira.
According to Kirumira, Pemba borrowed over 1 bn Shillings on November 2017 but has up to date failed to pay.
“Pemba was supposed to pay back the money in phases which he has failed to do.” According to Kirumira.
According to the warrant of arrest addressed to Mutesasira Associates, Pemba is to be arrested immediately following reports that’s he is about to flee from the country (Uganda).
” These are to command you to serve the respondent defendant, unless he deposits Us$300,000 with court or furnish some other sufficient security to satisfy the plaintiff’s claim, and or guarantee his appearance, you are to bring the said respondent / defendant Jack Pemba before the honorable court with all convenient speed” part of the statement reads.
It further commands the bailiff to carry out the arrest before 27th of April with an endorsement certifying when the matter has been executed or a clear explanation to why it has not been executed.
Attempts to reach Pemba over the matter was futile by press time.
