SC Villa falls to Vipers in Uganda premier league decider

First place Sports Club, Villa on Tuesday lost 1-0 to Vipers Sports Club in a major title decider of the Azam Premier League.

In a game played at Masaka recreation ground this evening, Daniel Serunkuma  scored the loan goal in the first half to give the Wakiso based side three points.

Vipers win means they now close up the gap and head closer to the championship, while a stiff title race is amongst three teams;  Villa with 49 points, Vipers with 46 and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCAA) with 44 points.

The loss by SC Villa is the first one in Masaka recreation ground since  the team started to play their home games in Masaka last year.

Meanwhile KCCA FC and Onduparaka FC settled for a 1-all draw in Arua town.

In other games played; Express won 2-0 against UPDF in a game played at Wankulukuku, with Michael Birungi and Zimula Jalil scoring in the first half of the game to secure vital points for the Red Eagles.

In Lugogo Proline beat Police FC 3-1 to brighten their survival chances in league. A brace from Daniel Isiagi and a goal from Gift Ali were enough to secure three points as Ben Ocen scored Police FC’s lone goal.
