Rally drivers cautioned on Safety
The President is the Federation of Motorsports Uganda (FMU) Dusman Okee has cautioned rally drivers to mind of the safety of road users while rallying.
Okee made the appeal on Tuesday during the launch of the third round of the Uganda national rally championships, the Southern Motor Club rally at Lugogo.
He says as a member of the road safety council, there goal is to try as much as possible to control accidents.
“While using roads, please respect other users. Don’t get excited other users have the right also to use those roads. Its rainy season be careful.”
The rally will begin on 28th April with a super special stage in Kako that will cover 1.4km according to the course clerk David Nsobya.
Rallying will then resume the following day to areas of Kyotera and Kalisizo. The event will cover a total of 307km before climax.
Three times Uganda National Rally champion Jas Mangat is still leading the 2018 championship with 200 points after two rounds.Registration will be closed on 21st April.
Twenty drivers have so far registered for the rally according to clerk of the course David Nsobya.
