Uganda national female soccer team – Crested Cranes crashed out of the 2018 African women nations’ cup qualifiers after settling for a goalless draw with Kenya on Sunday at Lugogo.

Crested Cranes had lost 1-0 earlier in the week to Kenya in a game hosted in Machakos, Kenya.
Sunday’s result meant that Uganda bowed out on 1-0 goal aggregate.

After the game FUFA President Moses Magogo met the players and advised them to stay committed with game of football.

“We would like you to earn money out of it (football). If you have chosen to play football please play football, after all you are going to play it for a period of time. Use that time you are playing time to be useful the time you will not be playing football. Football doesn’t allow certain lifestyles; don’t do things that will take away your fitness. Things to do with drugs, alcohol, getting married early and giving birth, they are all allowed but also you have to calculate your time properly.

We know you have boyfriends but must know that you are footballers and have more time after football,” Magogo said.

Magogo also revealed that the team is also going to be engaged in some international friendly games.

“It’s part of our strategy; what I am talking about has been written down and resources have been allocated, we don’t gamble with what we do. What we talk about we deliver,” Magogo said.

Uganda will take part in the CECAFA women championships to be held in Rwanda this year.
