Coca Cola to upgrade 25 football pitches

In commemoration of 25 years of its sponsorship of the post primary school football championship, Coca-Cola has offered to upgrade 25 soccer pitches in different schools across the country.

Century bottling company’s marketing manager Maggie Kigozi made the announcement on Saturday during the media launch of this year’s Copa Coca Cola post primary schools football championship at Bishop’s SS Mukono.

Over 60 schools will take part in this year’s tournament to be hosted by Mbarara High School.
According to Ham Ahimbisibwe, the Mbarara High School headteacher, the tournament which kick-off early next month will be hosted at 12 various playgrounds within Mbarara Municipality.

“As a hosting school we are ready, the officials visited us to assess the standard of the facilities we have and were satisfied with our capacity, Ahimbisibwe said.

Jinja SS are the tournament’s defending champions but are yet to qualify for this year’s finals as they are still waiting for Busoga regional qualifiers which are to be held in Kaliro starting 12th – 14th April.
