Russian expulsions: Countries kicking out diplomats

The US, Canada and more than a dozen EU countries announced the Kremlin employees would have to leave their countries in response to the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

As Australia (two), Macedonia and Hungary (one each) become the latest out of 24 countries to announce the expulsion of Russian diplomats.

New Zealand said it would like to expel Russian spies – if there were any.

“We have done a check in New Zealand. We don’t have Russian undeclared intelligence officers here. If we did, we would expel them,” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told state radio.
