Mangat, Kikankane shine at Kenya Safari rally.


Ugandan drivers, Jas Mangat and Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane shone at this year’s Kenya Safari rally crossing the finishing line for the fifth and second time respectively.

Mangat finished third clocking 2:05:27 while Kikankane finished sixth after posting 2:14:38 in the three day rally that ended on Sunday.

This was the ninth time that Mangat navigated by Joseph Kamya were competing in the prestigious Kenyan title, crashing out at four of their attempts.

For Kikankane this was his fourth attempt in Kenya Safari rally, and had crossed finish line once in 2014 where he finished 7th overall.

Mangat currently leading the Uganda national rally championship title race with 200 points after winning two national rally championship competitions; Mbarara rally and FMU Jinja challenge rally so far held.

The 200.18km Kenya Safari rally attracted over thirty drivers some of whom are competing for this year’s African rally champions.

Experienced Carlo Tundo won the rally that had observers from the international motorsports governing body FIA.
