Buganda’s hope of winning the inaugural FUFA drum tournament dampened at the weekend, extending its winless run a month after the tournament was launched.

Buganda played to a goalless draw with hosts Acholi region at Pece Stadium in Gulu.

However, the newly appointed Buganda province head coach Alex Isabirye believes his team will perform with time.

The sixteen teams’ tournament based on provinces had eight games on card during the weekend.
Busoga and Kampala remain the only provinces with 100 percent record of winning the two games they have so far played.

Busoga beat Sebei region 4-0 at Kiprotich grounds – Kapchorwa with goals from Daniel Shabena, Hamis Tibita, Joel Madondo and Richard Wandyaka.

At StarTimes stadium Lugogo, hosts Kampala beat Bunyoro 3-1.

Tony Odur, Richard Kavuma and Daniel Sserunkuma – the Azam Uganda Premier League top scored for Kampala as Malisha Jamal scored Bunyoro’s consolation goal.

Bugisu and Teso settled for a 2-all draw at Mbale municipal stadium.
West Nile beat Ankole 2-0, Tooro defeated Karamoja 2-0 as Rwenzori and Bukedi settled for a 1-all draw.

The tournament winner will walk away with UGX100m.
