Vipers qualify for Uganda cup finals

Vipers have qualified for the 2018 Stanbic Uganda cup finals after beating Sports Club Villa 1-0 in a game played at St Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

Brian Nkuubi scored the lone goal of the game in 70th minute.
Vipers will now take on KCCA FC in the finals of the tournament to be held in Bukedea district on Saturday June 9.

Vipers’ qualification to the finals has confirmed KCCA FC as part of the Uganda representatives in the 2019 CAF confederations cup since Vipers by virtue of being the top flight league champions will be playing in the CAF champions league.

Vipers last played in finals of this tournament in 2016, in a final game played at Nakivubo stadium.

The team also won their maiden Stanbic Uganda cup title that year.
KCCA FC goes into this year’s finals as the defending champions of the Stanbic Uganda cup.
