Mbabazi girl joins South African first family
On Saturday, May 19, the South African first family will travel to Kamapala for a traditional Bakiga wedding ceremony.
Andile Rwamaphosa, a son to South African president Cyril Rwamaphosa will take former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi’s niece Bridget Birungi Rwakairu in a traditional marriage ceremony known as Okushaba.
“In accordance with culture, the marriage is to be preceded by a traditional ceremony known as “Okushaba”, which shall be held on the 19th May 2018. The ceremony shall be at Plot 10 Nyonyi Gardens Kololo, at Rt Hon Amama Mbabazi’s residence,” a statement issued by Mbabazi’s family partly reads.
The 37-year-old Bridget is a daughter to the late Shadrack Rwakairu of Kabale and Peace Ruhindi, a sister to Jacqueline, Mbabazi’s wife.
Bridget holds a post-graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Beijing University of Science and Technology. She also holds a BSc, Environmental Engineering from Beijing Jiaotong University.
She attended Nyakisoroza Primary School, Nyakishenyi (Rukungiri) before joining Nabbingo Primary School (Wakiso) where she completed her PLE. She completed her O’ levels at Gayaza High School and her A’ levels at Makerere College School.
